Thank you for stopping by.

My name is Dayna Murphy and I have been making bead jewelry since about 1999. I am self-taught and never took any classes. I was first inspired to make a pearl necklace when the new Chinese freshwater pearls came onto the market.
Lost Cities Beads in Old Town San Diego sold me what I needed, showed me how to knot pearls and the rest is history.

I used to sell at multiple Farmers Markets who also supported Crafters and Artisans booths. I was at Oceanside Farmers Market (Thursday mornings), Old Town San Diego on Haney Street on Saturdays and Leucadia Farmers Market on Sundays. Now that I am fully retired I hope to spend more time creating and updating my website.

The designs and creation are all done by me. Where I have been influenced by another Artist, I give credit in the descriptions.
ALL metal components (beads, end caps, crimp beads, loops, clasps, etc.) are Sterling Silver .925 or better. I have used 14K Gold-filled in just a few designs

I am passionate about all pearls, an I use them generously in many designs to add a luxurious touch to my designs. Please see my "
About Pearls" page for more info on pearls. Almost all of my pearls were purchased from John Tu owner of Taiko Imports. All he sells are pearls and is an expert in the field of pearls. His quality is the best.

I also love Art Glass beads, mostly Borosilicate Glass ("Boro"), and bought these directly from SRA (Self Representing Artist) Artisans.

The gemstones I use were purchased locally at
Lost Cities Beads, Oskadusa and GemFaire when they were in town.

Currently Abalone Bay jewelry is only being sold thru my Etsy store. This is on the home page.

The Echoes Collection:
Many of you who came to the markets also got to know my Mom as she joined me in my booth for many years. She loved sitting at the markets, people watching and meeting many regular customers.
Sadly she passed in March of 2021 so I have created the
Echoes Collection to showcase her Estate jewelry. At some point, these items may become available for sale.

I hope you enjoy browsing my site.
